Rachel Mataira Winner National Geographic young photographer of the year 2019. By day a tax consultant and outside of that a landscape and documentary photographer, based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Photography has always been something that I have used to inspire me, encourage me to explore and keep me present in every moment behind the lens.

I’m fortunate to have travelled a lot both within New Zealand and internationally too. Photography has subconsciously become my way of communicating both the beauty of the world and it’s raw realities too.
